Preparing for your scan
We know how important it is to show your listing in the best way possible. In order to do so, we will ensure that all lights are turned on, all ceiling fans are off, toilet seat covers are closed, and any obvious debris on the floor or on the counters are hidden to ensure the quality of the scan. Unless otherwise specified, we will not alter any aspect of a staged home. As such, here are a few tips to ensure that your listing will look stunning in the finished product:
- For the best results for your final product we recommend that all lights be turned on, any drawers, cabinet doors and toilet lids be closed and any ceiling fans be switched off.
- Closets may be open or closed at the client's discretion. The models do for the most part look a bit nicer with the closet doors closed, however; if you have giant walk-in closets, you're obviously going to want to have the model reflect that in order to show those off.
- Our rule of thumb regarding closets is that if it has it's own light switch it is included, if it doesn't it's not. *(If you are ordering schematic floor plans, all closet and storage area doors must be left open in order to reflect the proper square footage.)
- Please ensure that the home is exactly how you would like it to appear. Almost every aspect of the property will be visible to potential buyers. If, for example the window treatments are askew, this will be visible on the model. Either walk the property beforehand or make a special request that we fix things of this nature prior to the scan.
- If the home is occupied, we strongly suggest that the space be as uncluttered as possible.
- We do not touch any staging! If for instance the couch pillows are askew, we don't make any adjustments because for all we know you wanted them that way.
- If the home is occupied, please ask your client(s) if they would like to omit certain parts of the house from the model. For example if your listing has a walk-in closet, your client may not want to showcase it as their personal items will be visible. Please let us know if there are special requests of this nature prior to the scan.
- If the home is occupied, all pictures and personal items may be shown. We can blur faces in pictures but it may be more beneficial to the appearance of the scan if the pictures and other personal effects were hidden from the camera’s view.
- While agents and their clients are welcome to be present for the scan, we will need for the scanned room to be vacant of any people or pets to ensure the quality of the final product. Each scan takes approximately 1-3 hours depending on the size and layout of the home.
